About SHE Investments

SHE Investments (SHE) is a support system for women entrepreneurs in Cambodia. Co-Founded by Celia Boyd, an expert in Community and International Development, its aim is to help women who have micro-businesses and accelerate their social and economic impact. SHE is committed to unleashing the potential of women by removing the barriers to their economic success.

Their flagship programme is a six month incubator run by trained Khmer facilitators. The facilitators work with the entrepreneurs and provide the support and skills necessary for participants to improve and scale their existing micro-businesses, ensuring ongoing success.

The impact they’re hoping to achieve during this programme is:

  • Increased women's leadership

  • Increased income for families

  • Challenging stereotypes that limit women’s role to the home

  • Job creation and economic growth

WHAT WE'VE DONE TOGETHER

Vasudhara provided funding for core costs and facilitator fees of the 2016 SHE Incubator. This has allowed nine participants to join the six month programme.

The programme is made up of six two-day workshops that will increase the knowledge and business skills in areas such as; family and business financial literacy, leadership and management, decision-making, business development and gender awareness.

Through supporting these organisation to succeed SHE hopes to bridge the gender gap in entrepreneurship in Cambodia and build a network of business women to promote shared learning and connections.

Credit to the success of SHE’s incubator programme they have developed a partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation. Successful applicants will be linked to international mentors for a 12-month mentoring programme.
